On Saturday 22 November, Sacha Post and Sven Signe are organising a silent gathering called ‘The Night of Contemplation’. During this evening, the medicine of contemplation speaks in the stillness of the hallowed hall. We will gather around candlelight in the gentle surroundings of the Laurentius Church in Breda. We will begin later in the afternoon to slowly enter the darkness of the evening as the daylight fades, symbolising the not-knowing that springs from silence. We make ourselves present for the fullness of life , inviting the mystical writings of the Christian tradition to be our meditation. This evening is open to everyone, but there is an opportunity to make a donation to support this contemplative life's work.
“A day of Silence
Can be a pilgrimage in itself.”
— Hafez
This one-day retreat takes place in the charming Rijnkapel in Amerongen. The day includes a communal, intentional opening (and closing), several periods of guided meditation, a vegan meal and poetic reflections to support the meditative practice, as well as tools for continuing this in daily life. (Please note that this day is accessible to both people who are completely new to meditation and those who are already accustomed to or even advanced in their own practice).
Disclaimer: If there are too few participants, we reserve the right to change the location due to the costs involved. People will be notified in good time if this is the case.
