The everyday moment of love

Last year I walked into the supermarket and grabbed a shopping basket, while I had grabbed it an older woman walked towards me to grab a basket too. At that moment I gave my basket to her to grab a new basket myself, I looked at her and saw the warmth with which this spontaneous gesture was received and I realised, in that single moment, in that one second, that in those kinds of moments the answer to our lives can be found. In a moment as everyday as helping a fellow human being in the supermarket, a moment when you consciously say hello to someone, when you try to listen to someone attentively, when you can meet someone beyond appearances, there the deepest secrets of life are actually revealed to us. When we make ourselves receptive to life and we simply try to be in the world to offer ourselves in loving presence, to this world and thus to each other, there the door opens to the answers to all our searching, there lies the solutions to worldly problems. For it is there and then that we become aware that life always asks for the simplicity of love, that life invites us in every moment to act from the heart. And this, this can become clear to us in the most everyday moments, in the supermarket, on the train, at the bus stop or at the office, in which you are given an opportunity in a split second to not be occupied with the wanderings of the mind but to open yourself up to intuitive action from the heart.
